Welcome!
There are times in all of our lives when we need extra support to face challenges, manage transitions, and overcome adversities. As a caring and compassionate therapist, I am committed to helping you explore the issues that may be holding you back and help you uncover the innate potential within you to thrive and succeed. Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma histories, low self-esteem, addictions or dysfunctional relationship pattern, there IS a way out into hope and healing. I bring a wide variety of both professional and personal experience to my clinical work and believe in the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
Through careful assessment, a strengths-based approach and an empathic, non-judgmental style, I will help you uncover the obstacles and patterns that may be holding you back, and explore new ways of seeing yourself and your life so that you may achieve greater joy, fulfillment, happiness and peace.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, starting out as a Life and ADHD Coach. A short time later, I obtained a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Wayne State University. My professional experience includes working in various private practice settings with clients presenting with a wide variety of mental health issues, as well as a domestic violence / sexual trauma agency, and as the owner of Hoarding Pros LLC specializing in work in the area of compulsive hoarding disorder.
In addition to the credentials listed above, I am also a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (think "food is medicine" and a healthy gut improves both physically and mental health) and an EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) Mental Health Provider. For more information on the transformative power of inviting horses into the therapeutic process, please visit Eagala.org.
Taking the first step toward change is often the most difficult. Call, text or email me today, and get on the road to feeling better!
NOTE: I have recently transitioned from a physical office to an online/video chat practice only for most sessions. This mode of therapy has been well received by my current clients. It's easy and so convenient! Equine-assisted sessions are held in person at a local equine facility. I hope to see you online or at the barn!
